1/3 Car buyers in India start search online
According to a study by Google India, four out of every 10 new car buyers and three in every 10 used car buyers in India’s top cities use internet to do their initial research before making the purchase. The study covered more than 1,000 people in the 18-55 age group with annual household income in excess of Rs 6 lakh in eight top cities in the country.
The study further reveals that more than half of the car buyers in the country’s top cities use internet to read reviews, compare specifications and prices of different models and to locate dealerships. More than half the consumers look at video ads, sponsored links and animated ads of cars, while 81 per cent of them are able to recall at least one car advertisement.
