Bluecasting or Bluetooth marketing is gaining popularity at events, malls, multiplexes and cafes. A Bluetooth zone is created by installing a Bluetooth gateway at the location. The range of each gateway is around 75 feet. People within the Bluetooth zone can download free mobile content by switching on their Bluetooth application and keeping their phones in a discoverable mode.
Brands have become conscious of the role mobile phones play in the lives of their consumers and are consciously trying to tap this medium. Bluecasting is all set to become an integral part of their mobile strategy along with SMS and WAP.
